Orchard Software Announces a New Solution for Integrated Delivery Networks And Hospital Outreach Programs

Orchard Software announces Orchard Copia®, an Internet-based system designed to simplify lab order management and result delivery for Integrated Delivery Networks and similar multi-site facilities.
Incorrect sample routing, incorrect ABN completion, and lost reimbursement are just some of the test management challenges facing Integrated Delivery Networks. Hospital laboratories, anxious to embrace local physicians and capture incremental business, also face critical issues when attempting to receive orders and send results electronically.
Copia allows lab orders to be entered directly using a Web browser, or from other applications such as an EMR. Copia also accepts patient demographic and insurance information from one or more HIS, ADT, or practice management systems. Collection requirements, the accuracy of diagnosis codes, ABN requirements, and even the routing for one or more testing locations is automatically determined based on user-defined business logic.
Copia consolidates test results from multiple laboratories and immediately delivers them to the physician. Copies can be sent to others, based on a user-defined requirements and the software's built-in business logic. Copia is HIPAA compliant. There are many secure delivery options, including print, Internet, and e-mail. Result routing can be set to a user-defined default, or modified during order entry to accommodate the ordering physician, time of approval, priority of the order, and criticality of results.
Copia is database independent. It can integrate with existing Microsoft SQL Server databases. Copia utilizes a Java™ 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) compliant application server, the standard for multi-tier enterprise applications. End-user access is provided using Web browser clients.
