Curt Johnson Assumes the New Role of COO at Orchard Software
Rob Bush, President and Co-founder of Orchard Software, announced the promotion of Curt Johnson to a newly created position in the Orchard Software organization. Curt Johnson, previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has accepted the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of March 1st, 2011. This change will allow Mr. Bush to focus more on product development and pass the operational duties on to Mr. Johnson.
In his new role, Mr. Johnson will focus on coordination and efficiencies between departments to ensure that Orchard’s growth is focused and meeting the needs of Orchard customers. All of Orchard’s departments will report through Mr. Johnson, with the exception of one new group described below.
Jeffrey Kain, Orchard’s Executive Vice President and Co-founder, along with Mr. Bush and a select development group, will focus their attention on new features and products to meet the future changes of the laboratory industry. Mr. Bush explains, “With Curt’s focus on Orchard’s established business, Jeff and I will have the time we need to complete important products that keep us competitive within an industry experiencing accelerated change. 2011 will be a monumental year for Orchard, and these changes in management responsibilities will ensure that we follow a steady path through the growth and change.”
