Orchard Harvest™ LIS Version 5.0 Press Release

The main Microbiology window functions as an electronic worksheet that interfaces to popular microbiology analyzers.

An intuitive graphical user interface simplifies training and daily use by all laboratory personnel. Enhanced, multi-level security features, and the automated user tracking and audit trail mechanisms in Harvest LIS 5.0, ensure the strictest patient confidentiality and system integrity helping you maintain HIPAA compliance.

Harvest LIS 5.0 gives system administrators control and flexibility in specifying which elements are included in a Sample ID, and in what order they will appear. This provides even more useful information to the lab without additional field for data entry.

To improve reimbursement, Harvest LIS 5.0 utilizes an even higher level of automated medical necessity checking, alerting the user to non-compliant orders, such as non-reimbursable diagnostic codes, testing frequency violations, and testing deemed experimental. Harvest LIS 5.0 supports the Medicare ABN format in both English and Spanish.

Harvest LIS 5.0 offers feature-complete bi-directional interfaces supporting the seamless transmission of demographic, order, result, and financial information with the major reference labs. Harvest LIS becomes the single repository of results providing consolidated patient reports that are then delivered automatically based on user-defined rules, including severity of results, order priority, and provider preference.

Harvest LIS 5.0 supports a virtually paperless hematology environment when interfaced with the Beckman Coulter line of 5-part diff hematology analyzers. By electronically storing all graphical output produced by the analyzers, scatter plots and histograms are available to the technologist at the microscope where they are most useful.

As with all Orchard Software upgrades, version 5.0 is backward compatible, enabling all current Orchard customers to retain all historical patient and database records.
