• Orchard Software's Orchard® Harvest™ LIS Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification

  We at Orchard are happy to announce that Orchard Harvest LIS v9.0 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as an EHR Module on October 27, 2011, by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable Hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

  The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

• Rob Bush Appointed to IICC Board of Directors

  Orchard Software announces that, on October 12, 2011, the IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium (IICC) appointed Rob Bush, President and Founder of Orchard Software Corporation (Carmel, IN), to its Board of Directors. Founded in 2008, IICC has the goal of creating and encouraging the adoption of a unified connectivity standard that will reduce the time and cost to develop and implement communication interfaces within the laboratory and between it and the rest of the healthcare system. • Michael D. Glant, M.D., Assumes the New Role of Medical Director at Orchard Software

  On July 1, 2011, Curt Johnson, Chief Operating Officer for Orchard Software, announced the addition of Michael Glant, M.D., to Orchard Software’s team as Medical Director.  Dr. Glant was previously the founder of, and a pathologist at, the second independent fine needle aspiration (FNA) clinic in the US, Diagnostic Cytology Laboratories, Inc., in Zionsville, Indiana. 

  Dr. Glant, who assumes his new duties on July 5, 2011, will provide additional resources toward the development of Orchard’s various laboratory systems to meet the evolving needs of today’s integrated laboratory. For more information, read the full press release.

• Curt Johnson assumes the new role of COO at Orchard Software
  

  

  Rob Bush, President and Co-founder of Orchard Software, announced the promotion of Curt Johnson to a newly created position in the Orchard Software organization. Curt Johnson, previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has accepted the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of March 1st, 2011.

  This change will allow Mr. Bush to focus more on product development and pass the operational duties on to Mr. Johnson.  For more information, read the full press release.

• Orchard Software is Top of KLAS--Again!

  In the Top 20 Year-end Best in Best in KLAS  report for 2011, Orchard Software was ranked the #1 LIS vendor in the Ambulatory category. Orchard received an overall score of 93.7 out of 100 in the Ambulatory category. Again, as last year, no other vendor listed in the survey received an overall score above 90. Orchard’s next highest LIS competitor had an overall score of 89.9. In Orchard’s other two categories, Overall and Community Hospital, Harvest LIS was rated an impressive 87.4 and 85.5 respectively. Overall, KLAS rated over 750 products from over 200 companies and has been compiling data on laboratory products, including software, since 1996. For the Product Quality Rating (PQR) score of all the products surveyed, no other product had a higher PQR score than Orchard’s PQR score of 8.5. 

  Orchard consistently leads the LIS industry with the highest survey results in the sales and contracting, functionality and upgrades, service and support, and general categories. The sales and contracting category measures overall contracting experience, avoidance of nickel and diming, and that the product works as promoted. In December of 2011, Orchard's score in the sales and contracting category was 90.9 out of 100. The functionality and upgrades category measures overall product quality, ease of use, and whether the product has needed functionality. In December 2011, Orchard’s score in the functionality and upgrades category was 90.3 out of 100. The service and support category measures quality of phone/web support, proactive service, and whether the vendor maintains promised service quality. In December, Orchard’s score in the service and support category was 90.3 out of 100. The general category measures overall satisfaction, overall communication, and would a client buy the product again. Orchard’s score in the general category in December was 87.3 out of 100.

• Channel Partnership for Orchard Software & Fisher HealthCare

  Orchard Software and Fisher HealthCare announced an exclusive agreement to offer and sell Orchard laboratory information systems, including the Orchard® Pathology diagnostic information system, to hospitals and independent reference laboratories.

• Cardinal Health, Orchard Software Enter Exclusive Agreement for Laboratory Information Systems Offering

  Cardinal Health to offer Orchard Laboratory Information Systems to Physician Office Lab customers to facilitate patient data exchange and improve billing efficiency.

• Sign up now to upgrade to Orchard Harvest LIS 8.5!

  Don’t Pass on this Upgrade and Fall Behind
  We encourage you to not let your Harvest LIS fall behind with upgrades. You will miss out on the advantages of the new features, and you also run the risk of not being current with upgrades incorporated for new regulatory issues. Finally, while upgrades are included at no cost with support, if you continue to pass on upgrades, it may cost you when the time comes for you to do so.  Not only may you need new hardware, but in order to bring your system up-to-date, it may require a site visit from an Orchard Systems Engineer, which is a cost not included for normal upgrades.

The survey asked over 17,000 employees from 129 companies in central Indiana to rate their employers in various categories. We are proud to announce Orchard received a #4 ranking in the medium-size company category as a top place to work, and joined the ranks of very prestigious companies around the Indianapolis area.

CodeMap® is a leading provider of Medicare compliance and reimbursement solutions and already provides many of our Orchard users with both NCD and LMRP codes pre-formatted to be compatible with Orchard’s software.

  As always, Orchard will continue to offer a free download of the unedited national codes. • Orchard at Top of Lab Economics' Web Vendor Survey

  Users with an Orchard web-connectivity system were polled for Lab Economics, and in 2006 & 2007, gave Orchard the highest combined rating based on their satisfaction with support for their Orchard web product and their willingness to buy again, which put Orchard at the top of the web vendor survey.
