Orchard Symposium—Northwest:  Presentation Summaries for Breakout Sessions

Session 1: Introduction to Harvest LIS

Designed for those who are new to Orchard Harvest LIS, this session will provide an overview of Harvest LIS and the various features and benefits that has made Harvest LIS an industry leader.

Session 2: IT Issues—Integration/Networks/Setup/Hardware/Maintenance

This session will provide you with tips and insight regarding your Harvest LIS and the technology, network, and maintenance used to support it. We will also show you ways you can be sure to maximize the performance of your Harvest LIS.

Session 3: What's New in Harvest LIS 7.0

This session will briefly show several new and enhanced features in the latest version of Harvest LIS, such as links, rules for order entry, conditional formulas, saved criteria, and documentation of critical results. (This is the same presentation offered in Session 6.)

Session 4: Microbiology Module

This session will demonstrate the Orchard Harvest LIS Microbiology module, and show you how your microbiology department can have all the advantages of the rules-based power access to clinical data, and reduce paper records and storage.

Session 5: Data Mining & Report Writing in Orchard Harvest LIS

This session will present an overview of the four browsers and the browser enhancements available in version 7.0, and focus on building column views, building complex filters, mining the data, and exporting data to and massaging data using Excel.

Session 6: What's New in Harvest LIS 7.0

See Session 3, above, for presentation details.

Session 7: Anatomic Pathology Module

This session will expose you to Harvest LIS' newest add-on module, the Anatomic Pathology (AP) module, which is fully integrated with Orchard’s Harvest LIS.  Through a brief product demonstration, you will see the benefits of electronic record-keeping, rules-based decision-making, and easy access to clinical data between departments. 

Session 8: Setting up Rules in Harvest LIS

This session will present rule basics, including a summary of the seven different kinds of rules that can be configured in Harvest LIS, with special focus on rules for result evaluation, rules for CPT codes and rules for result delivery.

Session 9: Improving Lab Outreach with Webstation

Through case studies and a product demonstration of Harvest Webstation, you will be exposed to how electronic outreach can enhance the value of your lab to your customers.
