Watch: Meeting the Dynamic Challenges for Quality and Patient Safety — June 11, 2020
Presented by: Sharon S. Ehrmeyer, Ph.D., MT(ASCP) June 11, 2020 | 12:00 PM ET |
POCT’s emphasis on quality and patient safety is more important than ever! Medical (diagnostic) errors recently were identified as the third leading cause of death! While not directly involved in diagnosis, POCT professionals are important members of the healthcare team. The information POCT generates is essential to the diagnostic process. Error reduction throughout the testing process, operator competence through education and training, sample collection, and the timely and accurate reporting of the right/accurate results are essential for quality test results. This presentation focuses on current and future challenges for POCT to maintain and enhance its role in contributing to and improving the diagnostic process.
