How long have you been at Orchard?
I recently had my anniversary! Big number 8.
What types of projects/assignments have you worked on?
The Associate Director of Product Management role is new for me. The new position has given me the opportunity to learn much more about product management and how we can work with other Orchard departments as well as with our customers.
Currently, I am working on developing the new Orchard Product Webinars, which I am very excited about because it gives our team a chance to share upcoming software enhancements. Our inaugural webinar took place on November 10th and is available on the ORC for review if you missed it.
What’s the best thing about your job?
My team is the best thing about my job. It is wonderful to see each team member grow and to watch the product evolve. I’ve seen an idea that started as a scribble on a white board produce features in our software that are quite beneficial for our customers. I enjoy that creative teamwork and seeing our team’s ideas come to fruition.
Where did you work (or what type of work did you do) before joining our company?
Before I joined Orchard, I was the Anatomic Pathology Manager for a reference lab. I am a board-certified cytotechnologist, which means that I love cells—plus I enjoy helping patients. Being a former Orchard customer and loving the products made the move to Orchard the next logical step for me.
Where did you go to college and/or graduate school?
I am a Hoosier. Go Indiana University! LOL
What degree(s) did you acquire?
BS, CT(ASCP)—I always root for the path lab. No more basements!
Tell us about your family.
My husband and I have two sons. Our oldest is serving in the army and our youngest is an accountant/data analyst for a Chicago-based company. When they moved out, our house was too quiet, so I replaced my kids with two dogs and two cats who are quite spoiled.
What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
I enjoy camping and being outdoors, but I also like to play video games or snuggle in with a good book.
Any additional information you would like to provide?
My latest Netflix binges are The Queen’s Gambit and The Great British Baking Show. I love people-watching at the airport, and my favorite season is Fall because I enjoy the color and temperatures!
