Watch: Statistics 101 for POC - What Do the Numbers Mean?—March 10 & 26, 2020
Statistics are a part of many, if not most, of a POCC’s job requirements. Whether it is interpreting manufacturer’s labeling, validating new equipment or routine verification of assay performance, some sort of statistical analysis is required to make intelligent decisions. Many POCC’s use packages that perform the calculations based on raw data entered, but what do these numbers mean? How can you tell if performance is “good enough”? How do you compare the claims in labeling from tests developed a decade apart?
