Kathleen David, MT(ASCP)
Point-of-Care Testing Manager
TriCore Reference Lab

Kathleen has been in the lab field for over 40 years and in POCT for over 20 years. She is the manager for Point-of-Care at TriCore Reference Lab in Albuquerque, NM. Her job encompasses three health systems, with 15 hospitals and over 100 clinics, urgent care centers, and physician offices performing POCT. Her POCT team includes four technical supervisors and 18 POC technicians. She is currently president of the Southwest Regional Point-of-Care Group. Kathleen has two children, one of whom has recently joined the laboratory field and works at TriCore! Kathleen originally trained to be a professional opera singer, but then came to her senses and went back to her original interest in biology. She has worked in laboratories in five different states and in many different positions. This position, however, is her dream job! When not working, she enjoys choral singing, reading, and seeing the sights of wherever she happens to be!
