Orchard Software's Industry-leading Trellis™ POCT Management Software Commended by Frost & Sullivan4/22/2019
Orchard Software is proud to announce that Frost & Sullivan recognizes Trellis, with its innovation and flexibility, as a leader in the POCT connectivity solutions market. Healthcare’s shift to value-based care creates a new perspective for POCT. The nature of this shift—a focus on preventive care and monitoring chronic disease—has led to growth in POCT. At Orchard, we are proud of the fact that we continually strive to align our offerings with changes in the healthcare industry, and we listen to our client base to constantly improve our products. Knowing that POCT is growing and that it offers serious challenges in oversight and connectivity, we developed Trellis to support POCT. It is another example of Orchard providing exciting new products built on the most up-to-date technologies. “Rapid, worldwide POCT adoption necessitates robust connectivity and management solutions. Orchard Software’s quality-driven company culture and platform maturity are critical points of differentiation, allowing for the development of the advanced Trellis POCT management software. Leveraging over 25 years of laboratory expertise, Orchard Software developed Trellis, which provides comprehensive data management and integration capabilities, irrespective of device type, or POCT site location,” says Divyaa Ravishankar, Industry Principal and Associate Fellow; Transformational Health: Life Sciences; Frost & Sullivan. Below is an overview of Trellis’ functionality: Oversight of POCT from your desk Because Orchard realizes that every lab situation is unique and POCT devices have varying capabilities, Orchard designed Trellis with a high level of implementation flexibility and integration capabilities to allow POC coordinators to oversee testing from a central location. Remote management of POCT training and competency assessments Trellis allows remote tracking of training and competency assessments for POCT operators across the organization. Automated emails can notify operators of upcoming certification dates, users can make bulk changes, and updated expiration dates auto-calculate, making it easy to track due dates. Decision support rules for efficiency and increased productivity Trellis offers decision-support rules in order entry to route orders to specific testing locations as needed. Result evaluation rules can be designed to support auto-approval, allowing designated normal results to transmit to the EHR without further intervention. Graphing of instrument quality control (QC) and linearity values Instrument QC can be set up to auto-order at the desired frequency, and QC rules can prevent the release of patient results without acceptable QC. Additionally, users can document and create inspection-ready linear regression graphs of an instrument’s initial linearity study or calibration verifications. POCT connectivity to reduce manual entry errors and automate billing The electronic connectivity offered by Trellis’ results in increased staff productivity and accuracy confidence for entered test results and billing capture. Trellis uses the Orchard Device Engine to overcome integration difficulties associated with disparate devices and vendor ware. “POCT integration and remote access to manage POCT are imperative to maximize the value that POCT can contribute to improving patient care and outcomes,” says Curt Johnson, Chief Operating Officer; Orchard Software. Ravishankar adds, “Orchard Software is vendor neutral and provides superior instrumentation integration and connectivity, allowing for rapid data capture and transmission from decentralized point-of-care analyzers. With its exceptional knowledge of hundreds of rules-based laboratory workflows and information systems, the company is uniquely positioned to capture critical testing data that is error free and EMR ready.” What sets Trellis apart from the competition “Unlike competing solutions, the highly scalable Orchard Trellis automates remote quality control management and billing to close care gaps and minimize revenue loss—valuable for both fee-for-service and value-based reimbursement models. Nationally recognized customer support that provides around-the-clock access to both generalists and subject matter experts further enhances Orchard Software’s value offering,” explains Ravishankar. Orchard commits to developing, installing, and supporting the very best laboratory information systems on the market.
