Watch: Biotin and Immunoassays: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly — November 12, 2020
Presented by: Ellis Jacobs, PhD, DABCC, FAACC November 12, 2020 | 12:00 PM EST |
This presentation reviews the clinical utility of biotin and describes why and how biotin is used in the design of immunoassays. Despite having the same potential effect of depressing assay response, elevated serum biotin concentrations can either increase results in competitive assays or decrease results in non-competitive assays.
